Our Westview Hills Band students had a BLAST recently when they got to perform alongside students from Herrick and Jefferson, along with the Downers Grove North Marching Band during their halftime show!

Over the weekend, the girls’ cross country team competed in the Wildcat Invitational. The girls’ varsity team finished in fourth place. Elena earned a medal for finish in fifth place. Followed by Elena for the varsity girls was Jacey, Eleanor, Maggie, and Maddie, Romia, and Melanie. In the open race there were many new personal best times with some girls running more than a minute faster than their personal best time which included: Sofia, Eliza, Karolina, Mila, and Zoe. The Westview Hills Cross Country teams continue to excel!
Westview recently hosted the Wildcat Invitational at Central Park in Bolingbrook. 14 other schools competed against Westview on the two mile course. In the varsity race, Westview was led by Santi who won the race while running a personal best time of 10 minutes and 42 seconds! This is fourth fastest time by a Westview boy in school history! He was followed by Mesfin in 4th, Braden in 7th, Kasper in 10th, and Emmett in 11th who all won medals for finishing in the top 15. Our boys won the varsity race and continued their undefeated season. In the open race, 10 of the 15 medals went to Westview runners. It was a dominant showing led by Ryder P. who won his 2nd race of the season! He was followed by Theo in 2nd, Jack in 3rd, Isaac in 4th, Aayush in 6th, Matthew in 8th, Owen McKinniss in 9th, Shashank in 10th, Oskar in 11th, and Miles in 15th. So many of our boys ran their best times of the season and should be proud of their race Saturday. A special thanks to Mrs. Wolf Golbach, Mr. Visby, and Dr. Scott for helping at the meet!
There are many ways to make sure that students are ready to learn and feel safe and supported while at school. At Maercker D60, a renewed focus on student behavior and positive support have resulted in things looking a little different than in the past.
