World Read Aloud was a hit with eight different authors virtually joining all of our K-2 classrooms to read aloud and hold a Q&A with the students. We even had one author join us from Pakistan at 10 p.m. her time! It was a great way to celebrate reading together! #d60learns

On Friday, Feb. 7, The Westview Hills student leadership team did their first “movie night” after school with a showing of Shrek complete with fresh popcorn! Students did a great job with the planning and organizing our first movie night and community fundraiser and we hope will pave the way for many more student-led events like this.

The D60 Band Spaghetti Dinner is returning on Friday, Feb. 21 from 4:30-8:30 p.m. at Maercker School. Every year, the band program puts on a spaghetti dinner as the main fundraiser to support music education in Maercker District 60. This year is the 50th anniversary of the dinner and it’s going to be a big celebration of half a century of music in our community!
